water main break in trailer park by Anonymous on January 31, 2004 @18:41

i was wondering what the law says about a water main break in our trailer park , it is between 10 and 20 degrees outside , we have made water avaiable to all the tenants, both hot and cold , except they wont close the doors and the pipes keep freezing, we have been digging for 5 days trying to find the leak , we have had a couple plumbers actually show up and tell us they wont fix it untill we find the leak , or they wont dig a new main this time of year. most of the plumbers we have called wont even come out now. we got a call from the prosecting att. of another county telling us that the tenants are going to check into a motel at our expense . is this leagal? thank you

I don't know if it's legal. If it's unfair to the landlord, it probABLY is LEGAL.
The tenants should have renters insurance policies covering circumstances like this that make the rental uninhabital for some reason.
