The tenant is not asking for the "exact minute" the handyman is coming but she would like more notice than the knock at the door or more notice than finding a strange man standing in her living room. And, she especially does not like her young girls opening up the door to strange, unexpected men. Do you advise your girls to do that?

in addition to that clarification this is NOT a new landlord to me.. I've been here in good standing for 6 1/2 years. They've had to replace the dishwasher which took them a YEAR.. they've had to replace the stove which exploded in flames when a short developed in the back of the unit... Nothing else in 6+ years has needed their attention.. and in fact - the lady I deal with has not set foot on the property in about 5 of those years, always having the handymen do what needed tending.

I've since inspected previous lease agreements (they have not yet provided a current 2010 copy) and the 2008 copy does state a 24 hr notice policy.. yet they were very adament on bellowing their rights to enter as they "wish" because They own it and not me. I'll be taking the new lease in December to an attorny for legality clarification and requesting to ammend details so that the intent is clearly outlined for the future.
