Speaking as a displaced homeowner, A.L.E. has done absolutely nothing to find me living quarters and in fact refused payment on a condo we (my husband and I) wanted to rent while approving payment on a hotel room that cost twice as much as the condo. They must have some kind of a sweet deal (kickbacks?) with hotel chains to arrange for clients to stay in hotels while refusing less expensive single-family housing options. As a consumer, I am not at all happy with A.L.E. solutions, and it looks like I'll be stuck in a hotel room for the next 4-6 months while my house is being rebuilt.

Being in the business, I am sorry to tell you, but if the property you found was denied it was due to your adjuster not approving the property (could be for any reason) not ALE or any other placement service... there would be no motivation for them not to place you in a rental as opposed to a home/condo. If this was truly the case, why didn't you address this with your adjuster and get yourself into housing.. hard to believe that you stayed in a hotel for 4-6 months and never questions the suspicious behavior you are so upset about?? sorry that you and your family were displaced, but I don't believe you are giving all the facts here

I hear your frustration. In my experience, ALE is just a subcontractor and does what your insurance company instructs, nothing more, nothing less. When my adjuster said no to a house, they wouldn't help me (even though a hotel is SO ridiculously more expensive!!!). once my adjuster came through and authorized them to get me a house, they were on it. It all comes down to what their client tells them to do, and they work for your insurance company, not you. It's a bummer but that's how it works.
