Not sure why landlords are the only people that charge late fees the day after rent is due. No other utility or bank or mortgage company do this as far as I know. Just would like to know why landlords are allowed. Especially since they already have a months advance on rent to use.

Looks you have no idea what your talking about....Just like your credit card charges late fees so does your mortgage, and if you don't pay your Taxes, Sewer bill, water bill etc. the city auctions and place a lien on you home. THERE IS NO FREE RIDE.....Pay your rent on time so you don't have to worry about any of this and if your going to be late just let your landlord know.
