Please be aware that it will be the FHA that applies to a tenant needing an assistance/companion animal in the rental unit. The FHA has a broader definition of what an assistance/companion animal can be and the conditions for a reasonable accommodation under the FHAA.

The ADA only covers a service animal in regards to public accommodations. It has a narrow definition of a service animal and the conditions for reasonable accommodations.
