These above landlords show no mercy for the average middle income renter as shown in their replies to this article on increasing rents yearly. Their greed and lack of concern in social structure and survival is appalling. I hope they never fall on hard times with all their wealth and someone sticks it up their ass as well. Thank you. Rgh. I agree that the increases are mainly greed. Our landlord has just told us rent is going up $200 on the 1st of September. No notice of any kind, just her coming to the trailer and telling us. Saying she can't keep up with her bills and the going rate is $850 for places now. WHAT DOES SHE THINK THIS DOES TO ME AND MY FAMILY??? My husband is on perminant disability, fixed income is what we have now. We live paycheck to paycheck, don't have money to do anything now and I'm to pay $200 more for a trailer that has had nothing done to improve it. If we wouldn't have done some things to make it livable for ourselves, it would have most likely been condemned. It was left go my the people before us and the landlord herself. I looked in our paper and 3 bdrm, 2 bath are going for $850 - $950 but they ALL say things like remodeled, new flooring, fresh paint, like new, excellant condition. This place that she wants me to pay $200 more for each month is falling apart, all the carpet needs replaced, cabinets in kitchen are all falling a part particle board, windows have no storm windows for in winter have ice on inside of the glass, electric outlets that don't work, insulation underneith that is falling on ground pipes froze in winter had to keep water trickling to keep moving. It is crazy and she knows about it all. It is TOTAL GREED. The little person looses everything and no one cares. This world is falling apart.
