palm tree trimming cost? - Landlord Forum thread 333924

palm tree trimming cost? by J (FL) on April 21, 2015 @19:33

I have three tall palm trees (I think they are queen palms, not sure) at one rental with a bunch of dead fronds, and shedding lots of little berries and other debris.

I had one estimate done and they want $375 (total for all three trees) to trim and remove the debris from the ground.

Does this sound too high? I've never had to have palms trimmed before. I thought I would ask here first before I arrange for others to come out and do estimates. I know there are some other LLs here in Florida or other warm states who may have some information on this. Thanks.

I'm coming from a Southern California experience, so I don't know if this helps you put things into perspective, but if I were to call a tree service for 3-4 palm trees, I expect to pay $350 or more for a job that encompasses the palms only. Having said that, I have steady gardner and we usually agree on a special price that includes a number of other annual tree-trimmings in the package (that package being about $350-375).

Queen palm?? Professional service only-they're touchy and easy to kill.
