To Shaun in FL - Landlord Forum thread 334075

To Shaun in FL by Katiekate (New York) on April 24, 2015 @09:04

A while back you wrote that you get workers comp insurance in Florida for just $50 - $150.

I called my agent about this. He is an independent agent....he searched for me and did not find workers comp for under $1500.

Please post for me the name of the insurance company you are using.

Thanks

Maybe she meant $50-$150 per day, or maybe per week, or maybe per month? Who pays the highest work comp rates? Tree trimmers. 50 cents for every payroll dollar in CA

What I remember writing was
"Workers Comp Exempt"
The topic was about 14-16 yo kid mowing the lawn for John.
I wouldn't treat him as an employee…but as a sub contractor.
My properties are in the panhandle and Tampa areas.
Most LLCs,LLPs don't have employees, everyone is treated as a sub and carry their own liability insurance.

Sorry for the confusion, Katie
