Boxing matches - Landlord Forum thread 335332

Boxing matches by Anonymous on May 22, 2015 @16:58

My tenant in a 2 family house is hosting boxing matches in the year. They constructed a ring and are inviting folks over to watch and bet on the fights in the years.
It started out with HS kids fighting sort of like a boxing league, but now it is becoming more violent and neighbors are complaining about the sirens whenever an ambulance comes.
How to put a stop to this activities?

not sure how long this has been going on but I would have put a stop to it the day I found out about it. I personally would have been there and made everyone leave.

Most people wouldn't do that so you should send whatever type cure or quit notice you use. then, YOU need to be proactive and enforce it.

Your tenant is operating an illegal business at your rental property that can lead to great liability. The tenant most likely lacks resources for someone getting hurt or injured, which means some lawyer will eye the landlord as being the one with assets.

Issue your State 'Cure or Quit' Notice and follow up with an inspection for compliance. Be prepared for excess damage from the folks that the tenant invites over. News reports that I've seen has never ended good for the landlord.

Are you for real? This is the most ridiculous "problem" I've ever heard of on this forum.

What is a 2 family house?

Don't you think one of the neighbors would have called the police by now and the police would have made some arrest?

And what parent would allow their HS kid to engage in boxing?

Your entire story sounds like BS to me. If you're going to come here with BS, at least make it believable.
