Did you not read my first sentence? BOTH parties (LL and T) have to agree to any changes to a lease, IN WRITING. So, no, YOU cannot amend the lease, but BOTH of you can, no matter what state you are in.

Yes, I realize both of us would have to sign the amended agreement for it to be valid. I was worried that maybe there were certain things that couldnt be added unless it was the original agreement. example.. waiver of 5 day notice.
So you are saying yes it is possible to amend no matter what as long as we BOTH agree and sign... this applies for louisiana? are you 100% sure!?

I am 200% sure ! Any lease in the country can be scrapped, changed, added or subtracted from, etc. AS LONG AS ALL PARTIES TO THE DOCUMENT AGREE TO IT, AND IT DOESN'T GO AGAINST ANY LOCAL, STATE, OR FEDERAL LAWS. You can burn the original lease and make a new one out, or you can make an AMENDMENT to the lease on a separate piece of paper,(or on the original lease itself) as long as info in the amendment refers to the original lease, and all parties sign it.
