Get a copy of the police report. Make sure the entire incidence it document in the case file. Any part of it which is incomplete or wrong... Get it corrected. It isnt uncommon for police to fail to record the out ome if such things .. Do not wait or you may ve unable to get correction later. Ask why police even went as far as they did with NO evidence. Get all you documentation together niw while it is fresh

Then, decide if you want to sue tenant for abuse of process and/or filing a false report.
