No. Unfortunately, the painter got scammed by your former T. Even though it was your home that got "enhanced" (and from your viewpoint, that would be a no.), you never had any contact with the painter, and no oral or written contract with him, nor did you give the T your permission to have it painted. The painter did not do his "due diligence" and checked out the person or the house. Now, if the painter did a real good job, you like the colors, and it still looks as though as it will last another 5 years before it needs painting again, then you could offer the painter that you will pay him 10%-25% of what he is asking, to settle out of court. Otherwise, you will both take your chances in front of a judge.
