You are right. I know Ia. laws, but not Ca. laws. But when someone comes on this forum with questions, they should expect all kinds of answers from all over the country. Only the OP can decide what is the best answer for their particular situation. We are here to try to help someone with our opinions, which are general in nature, and do not always follow a certain states laws exactly. If you don't like someones answer, "take it in stride or with a grain of salt." You don't need to respond to them if you don't want to. And, yes, people jump to conclusions either because there is not enough pertinent information given, or some info that was given was not what many LLs feel they would do in that same situation.
