I normally request W2 of last year and current paystub up to June. after June, I am okay with only last pay stub if it shows YTD income. It is hard with business owner though. In that case, you require last 2 yr tax return to see stability of income but no one like to provide that.

Yea same as a bank requires. I just called a large, corporate apartment complex and they told me they just take people's word for it. I thought that was strange.
