Fixing the front door could cost over $1,000. The door and the frame have to be replaced as a whole unit, and the labor costs are a huge ripoff. Faced with that kind of expense, especially for something that you don't feel is your responsibility to pay for as the landlord, would make you "emotionally invested," too.

No it wouldnt. It would make me handle it as a business problem with an expense.
