Loans to pay rent? by Eugene (CA) on April 25, 2016 @22:03

Have you ever heard of tenants taking out loans to pay rent? Or have you suggested that the tenant take on a loan to pay rent to avoid being evicted? Would love to hear about your experience.

Who would loan money to somebody who can't even pay rent? If they did find a loan it would have such a high interest rate that they would never pay it or you ......bad idea.

Years ago, still a newbie, I rented to a retired couple. I didn't think they were a good risk even then, but I let Hubby persuade me. The gentleman left, leaving her holding the bag for the bills. So she started doing those car loans to cover rent. Huge interest. All it did was prolong the situation.
I still ending up serving her.

Do they have a credit card? Paypal the rent! Just make sure you cover the service charges by increasing the amount billed.
