Online Rent Payments - Landlord Forum thread 345172

Online Rent Payments by Anon on May 24, 2016 @11:04

Whats the best way to collect rent monthly? I wanted to have a pay online option and I tried erentpayment.com but now its kind of embarrasing because after telling all the tenants to use it now it is really glitching a lot and people can't figure it out. Does anybody know of a better one?

Dwolla, Venmo, Cozy.co. I use Dwolla, but Cozy has some good reviews and they seem to be focused on adding lots of tools and features for landlords.

I have an account at Chase Bank. Their system (they call it Chase QuickPay) requires only one of you to have a Chase account. It allows the sender to send funds from their bank account or a credit card. I get notified and have to accept the funds for them to go into my account. I like this for two reasons.
1. Neither of us has the other party's bank info. They use my email address to designate who it is going to.
2. I have to accept the payment for it to post so there are no partial payments snuck in.

My bookkeeper has researched this type of arrangement with other banks. Some have such a system and others don't. Check with your own bank.

Of course this doesn't work for any tenants without bank accounts (and I have one or two).

I use the ClearNow company that was on this site. I like it.
