Geez, no. Do not make it out to cash.

Unless you are renting rooms, the tenants are responsible for the contents fo the lease jointly. The security deposit is then paid jointly, so the landlord should return the security deposit jointly.

Nothing wrong with to Cash, but what I have always done is make it out to the person who wrote the deposit check in the first place, not to everyone on the lease. It's proven to be the cleanest way.
