Pardon, but I am NOT a troll. I am having a very difficult time trying to find a decent real estate agent. I have had some in the past who were very good (no longer in the business), but now I have run into 3 jerks in a row and am beginning to think this business is full of sharks. Sorry you don't believe me, but it's true, and I am at my wits end and have far better things to do with my life than make troll posts. The thought of incurring a lawsuit due to blatantly discriminatory language in a rental ad terrifies me, and I can't believe an agent would be so stupid/ignorant to do such a thing.

I still think you should try doing this yourself, unless you are really strapped for time. If you don't understand an item on a credit report you can always post here and someone can try to help you. Also, you can find examples on the web of what the different codes and abbreviations on the report mean.

If you still insist on using a realtor don't take any more recommendations from your friends, since you've gotten two bad ones in a row now.

Gee? Having trouble with three realtors in a row! Friends keep referring unethical realtors? What are the odds? Maybe you are the problem? Just saying. Hey, it might be some right wing conspiracy?

Her friend giving the references is the problem. Twice she has described very unprofessional behavior by the real estate agents.

There is no need to post any response as I did not ask you any questions or ask for your opinion about the OP.

You do not need to answer every post, especially with inaccurate information. The OP stated that "another realtor stop by tonight who was recommended by someone" meaning another person or possibly a different friend.

Just post your opinion and quit trying to correct everyone else! You believe what you want to believe and I will just stick to the facts.

I agree that three bad realtors recommended from different sources are an oddity. Just seems so strange that every realtor is in some way unethical. Having worked with dozens of realtors over the years, I have not ever met one that was unethical or raised the suspicion that they lacked integrity. Three bad realtors in a row would raise the point that the landlord was the problem and making up an excuse for her lack of knowledge in blaming the realtor. Just my opinion, no need for G or J to respond.

Yes, I did strike out 3 times, which is odd, but not my fault All of these would-be tenants were first prospects (i.e., I had no other choice) for each agent:

The first realtor pressured me to rent to a couple who were his friends, despite the fact that their income was way too low and one had absolutely no credit history.
The second one pressured me to rent to two sisters without an application or credit report because based on his 25 years of experience, they were okay and I needed to make an exception to the screening process.
The third wanted to advertise the apartment as "owner-occupied, no children," which violates the fair housing laws (I would prefer not to have children, but I can't say that). What kind of realtor would put me in that sort of position.

I might add that I've had some very good tenants in the past, and have even gotten thank-you notes from a few saying how much they enjoyed living next door to me and that they were appreciative of how well I treated them.

I'd rather leave the place empty at this point. Too bad, because it's a beautiful unit that was completely renovated.

Like someone else mention. I would just take the time to learn how to manage on my own. Why get in trouble based off someone else. If you get in trouble may as well be on your own. Lots of online resources addressing your state laws ect. Just my recommendation
