Not trying to be rude. It's a legitimate question. I'm wondering why the lease is between her and the restaurant owner instead of her and the people actually living in the unit.

I'm not even going to ask why a 5 bedroom apartment is only $985/month.

I agree with you, J. It was a legitimate question about possible illegals. And, yes, 5 bedrooms times $200 per month is $1,000. And 2 people per bedroom is only $100 / month / person. Where in this country can a single person rent a single room for $100/month ? That's only $3.33 per day. And if they ARE illegal, and the LL KNOWS they are illegal, she can be held accountable for housing illegals, by the Fed. gov't. I think Tati needs to terminate the lease with the restaurant owner before she gets in trouble.

What federal law book have you been reading. Sources, please.

Or, much worse, if there is a fire in that place, with that many people stacked in there.

What are the chances of ever being able to keep tabs on whether the correct number of people are living there when it's 9 people in a transient situation as employees who may quit or be fired replaced by someone new?
