just to add here --- you, as the property owner / LL are responsible for the tenant's security deposit. Your manager / management company / agent, is nothing more than that,....your agent. We all have heard or been involved in ""property management co's / managers "" mis-appropriating security deposits / disappearing / etc.. At the least, they are using those funds to work the float or favor their own banking relationships. I have always believed that security deposits should be in the possession of the property owner.
