The tenants are not required to sign any letters, confirm anything, or be involved in the sale in any way.

The OP is entitled to any documents pertaining to the tenancy from the seller, and should request those as part of the sale along with the security deposit.

The tenant, again, is not required to sign anything or be involved in the sale whatsoever.

This is a business transaction between buyer and seller. The tenant is not involved in the business transaction. The only thing required of the tenant is to begin sending the rent to new owner on XX date, which should be communicated to the tenant well in advance of the next rent payment due date.
