Harassing tenants? Arrested? - Landlord Forum thread 348542

Harassing tenants? Arrested? by Donald (NYS ) on September 25, 2016 @15:31

Tenant owe back rent and broke lease, damages, I sent them 4-5 letters including Security deposit letter. They did not provide me with a forwarding address, which I found it on my own. Now I received a letter back from them saying to stop harassing them or they will have me arrested for harassment. I am going to take them to court, but what's the law about harassment?

Harassment has to rise to a much higher level than this.

Let's say you went to court and lost...then continued to sue to gain payment...that is harassment

Let's say you allow the statue of limitation to expire and take no action, then Begin to demand payment repeatedly.....that is harassment.

Let's say you do not go to court...but instead call their employer...or their parents and friends.....that is harassment

Sending a letter in advance of filing for non-payment...nope. Normal business practice.
