I am new landlord, I am going to court for 1st time I am nervous. My tenant intimated me saying I am doing a retaliatory eviction that because she called a city inspector but he did not find anything no violation was given to me. I got scared but a friend told me I need to finish the process.
I told her VERBALLY not to pay the october rent (her daughter was there) but she wants more money now 3 moths of rent as phycological compensation , so I dont want to do any deal with her anymore.
Did I do something unlawful? what if the judge ask me if I said that. can this be a probelm for me in court?

What are you going to court FOR ? WHY did you tell her not to pay Oct. rent? And, yes, she "may" be able to use what you told her about the rent, against you in court. It depends on why you said it. Any time you decide to change the terms of a lease in the middle of it, it needs to be in writing, and signed by both parties. Otherwise you can't change any terms til the end of the lease. We need a lot more specific info from you, to be able to help you. When you go in front of a judge, treat the judge and your tenant with respect. Do not argue with the judge or the tenant, and do not interrupt either of them while they are speaking. Be cool, calm, and collected. State facts only, that you can prove. Calling the T a "liar" will work against you. Say "Your Honor" several times while you are speaking, and say "Thank You, Your Honor" when the case is done.

Is this a year lease or month to month. What is the reason you are evicting this person for?
It might be that you need a property manager to handle this property for you. If you can't let these type of threats roll off your back.
