Stick a paan under it...and a monitor. Then YOU will know when your water heaters are leaking.

I would send a major nasty note to the plumber. I would send a nasty note to the tenant.

But, you fail to do due diligence. You must hire your own contractors, be in contact with them, know them, and use them. But..in every case you need to make sure the contractors understand that ONLY you make the final decision. They are to make their first call to assess the situation and report to you.

This was your failure. Fix your procedures
