Re: bigot tenant - Landlord Forum thread 350158

Re: bigot tenant by Anonymous on January 15, 2017 @18:50

Implying your tenant is "the bigot" reflects more on your attitude then the tenants objection to your posting a political sign. As a landlord, it was a failure to be neutral and not post any signage that would impact your relationship with your tenants, especially when they live near you.

Would you be just as upset if your tenant posted an opponents sign? Pick your battles, as it sounds you are the one instigating trouble.

If there is a breach of the lease, then follow through legally with the proper notices and actions, not name calling.

Respectfully, Mr or Ms Anonymous, It is No reason to stop paying me the rent.

It is my property and if I decide to support someone on the school board or a higher office by having a yard sign, my tenant has no right to take issue with it and stop paying rent.
I am more than willing to let him out of his lease, but there is no reason for name calling, vandalism and not paying the rent.

Yes I will take your advice Mr Wilton and have my attorney begin the action of eviction.
Thank you.

There is more to this story than you are providing, Seems to be an on going conflict between you and the tenant that started way before the sign.

Are you saying you put the political sign up in the rental property and the tenants a "bigot" because he complained?

No I am calling him a bigot because of the offensive cursing , intimidation and slurs about my family's nationality....

and his refusal to pay his rent to a "foreigner"
