Sorry People, He is right on the money. Section 8 IS in FACT for those that can not afford the rent on their own. It IS in fact for those that can not pay this expense out of their own pocket. That is why you applied for the assistance in the first place. Calling him a horrible person for stating the facts just makes you a horrible person. I do NOT accept Section 8 either. I did in the past. Unfortunately when I did I lost control as to whom I could rent to. Section 8 Tenants (my experience ONLY) take less care of the property. Cause more visits from Police. And in 4 our of 6 cases they were not able to pay the $60 out of pocket, their portion, and had to be evicted. The unit was left trashed and cost me thousands to make repairs and re rent the unit. Personally I would LOVE to be able to accept Section 8. Who would not want guaranteed income and payment from the federal govt. But alas, far too many recipients abuse the system, disrupt the rest of the rental community with constant disrespect, loud music, fighting, yelling at their kids, police presence etc. This I'm full of shit? Take a look at the low income property's in your area vs other areas not low income. Crime, kids left to play in the streets with no parent in sight. Yards full of trash and police constantly called. The "Single" mom with 2 kids that moved in, NOW has the baby daddy living there as well. So not only does the state put a roof over hear head but the dead beat dad's head too. Don't be pissy because I am telling the truth... It is RARE to get a tenant on Section 8 that behaves as well as those I rented to based on their Good Credit and Income. A GOOD Tenant on section 8? One out of 10....

This was the experience of two of my sisters who thought they could help and get checks from the government.

Both single moms with kids moved their baby daddies in.

1 gave a room to her pitt bull who destroyed it!

Both fell behind on the very cheap (less than $100 monthly) out of pocket rent and just decided not to pay. My sisters said they just gave up asking for it and took the check.

Eviction was difficult and the properties were in ruin from neglect and other activities.

I love how people try to tell you what to do with your properties when they haven't put a dime into yours. If the government wants to have properties for people to live so cheaply or free, they should build them like they build jails. FREQUENTLY.
