Help with cat urine smell - Landlord Forum thread 351319

Help with cat urine smell by Shannon (Pa) on March 25, 2017 @13:27

Okay unfortunately I have to remove two areas of carpet in this apartment because the smell has gone the whole way through and that's fine we are replacing that. Problem is when I was cleaning in the kitchen area which has a vinyl tile floor that is grouted I smelled a lot of cat smell in that area as well I really don't want to tear that up too, so I'm wondering if any of you have found a product that you can spray on or saturate and let it dry naturally to get rid of that smell or at least to a point that it's not super obvious. Anyway, this forum is a great place to find information with people who have come across things just like myself so that's why I'm posting this question thanks for your help.

I have used the product Odoban. It comes in a 1 gallon jug, or in a 1 quart spray bottle for under $10. I've been getting mine at a local Sam's club. I'm not sure what other places sell it. You can dilute it down, but in your situation, you should probably spray it on using it at full strength. It has a distinct, nice smelling, odor to it, so just use a little to start with on all the cracks, and let it naturally dry up.

I have used a number of products but I have also found Odoban to about the best. Sam's Club sells it but so does Home Depot. HD sometimes has special deals on it. I bought a gallon bottle which also came with a spray can. I use the spray can in the car after long trips to get our doggies' odor out.
