I invited my boyfriend to stay with me in my home in hopes he would help pay half my bills its been about 1year and we argue so he moved himself into my downstairs garage without his belongings but still thinks he lives here, do I need a eviction notice?

Give him notice to vacate and if he does not, then file to evict.

Is he paying rent? Depending on your state laws you might have to give him a 60 day notice to move. Do you have any written agreement on him paying half the bills?
