That depends on how much knowledge YOU have about your state's LL/T laws, and its eviction laws. Is there a lease with her, or has she ever paid you any rent ? Why do you want them out? Have you ever had to file a police report on them for any reason? The way I read your question, they seem to be living in the home YOU are living in. (however, it could be taken as it is a home you rent out, and do not live in yourself) If you were gracious enough to take them into your home in a time of need, and never asked them to pay you any rent, then you cannot evict them for non-payment of rent. An attorney may tell you to give them a 30 day notice to move out, and then do a formal eviction on them if they don't move. This forum needs more info in order to better help you.

"An attorney may tell you to give them a 30 day notice to move out"

You have no idea what state, nor if there is a lease or rental agreement. 30 day notice is not a standard that applies everywhere as you assume. Some states, it's as little as 15 days, others it's as much as 60 days.

Besides, if there is no lease or rental agreement, then an ejection, not an eviction is the proper course of action. An ejection procedure may require the services of an attorney.
