Lockout from garage as a church by Cynthia on August 14, 2017 @12:22

Can a landlord legally lock out a tenant that he rents a garage to as a church. He said he doesn't have to evict because it's a garage.

Is this a commercial garage? Is a church the landlord? Is this a residential stand alone garage or an attacthed garage? What does your contract say? Is the rent current? Just not enough information provided.

Not sur if I understand you correctly. But are you the tenant, who are renting a garage to use as a church? Do you have a written lease? Is rent current? Did you get any notices? Not alot of info to determine an answer to help you.

I cannot understand the question. The reader needs to know to what person the pronouns, e.g., him, refer.
Not to bust chops but I cannot follow the language.

Whether its a church or a hot dog stand is irrelevant. If a person rents a garage as a commercial space can he evict the renter whenever and however he wishes to? I don't think so. Can a company that rents storage spaces evict someone for no reason? No they can't. Non-payment of rent or a breach of the storage lease would be required. IMO.

If you are behind on rent and if you have a commercial lease, then your landlord can lock you out. Most commerial leases' provide for this situation. In some cases, the landlord can also seize any items of value inside the commerial rental property to recoup any mony owed. Read your lease, as that will control what the landlord or tenant can and cannot do.
