what could or should be done? if you really care, why not ask your landlord? why ask here? my point is, if you want to know, ask the person who knows ... your landlord.

If the landlord knows...wouldn't the landlord be following the law and provide the require notice of where the security deposit is held?

    Agree, too many landlords do not know their state security deposit laws.

    my question is what does the original poster want? If is to know where the deposit is held, just ask the person who knows. Yes, maybe the landlord is supposed to tell but if they didn't, ask, get the answer, and move on.
