Does divorce always = bad credit? - Landlord Forum thread 354661

Does divorce always = bad credit? by Anonymous on October 16, 2017 @16:05

I have been getting quite a few prospects who say they have bad credit due to a divorce. Are they using the divorce as an excuse? I don't take people with a score lower than 650 so it doesn't matter to me what their family history is... I was just curious.

I walked away after a divorce with excellent credit. My ex, not so much. :)

I'd say folks at the lower end of the financial spectrum do ... the ones who live check to check. They are taking one household and now creating two ... generally with the same amount of money.
