You still have the shifting foundation issue. Why don't you be up front and let them know what has been found and what has been done or will be done. That way, everyone can at least get some sleep without worrying the place might blow up. Dodging the tenants questions and leaving them wondering is bad for your landlord tenant relationship and reflects badly on the type of landlord you are. Just be up front and explain everything that's happening and what will be done!
