Re: Exposing Deadbeat Tenant - Landlord Forum thread 355131

I see three problems here...one is your poor unprofessional demeanor and two is, you obviously have a poorly written lease for a commercial rental property. A properly written lease would allow the landlord to seize and lock out the tenant who was behind on rent. You lack skills in how to work with the tenant whose behind on rent to either come up to date or exit the lease.

After six months of no rent, the only person to blame is the landlord. So just wait until the court date and hope the tenant does not have some reason not to pay rent that the court accepts?

Oh, going on social media and bitching about the tenant would only add money to the tenants pockets. Sounds like you are wishing to make this issue into a costly expense for yourself.

AH..there was the answer I was hoping I wouldn't get. The "holier than thou" response.

First of all don't you dare to pass judgement on my demeanor. I am not writing this to my tenant, I am posting it on a LANDLORD board thinking landlords would get my frustration.

Your comments on my lease and my "lack of skills" are laughable. As again, YOU DON'T KNOW A DAMN THING ABOUT my situation.

So for the landlords who can answer a question without getting on their soapbox: Is there a mechanism to expose deadbeat tenants?

One thing we do know is that no landlord should let any tenant get six months behind in rent! We also know that derogatory name calling of your tenants just shows how unprofessional you are in handling the situation. You will only find support from other landlords who have failed to learn how to properly run a business. Yours is the same old story, blame the tenant for the landlords mistakes. Sorry to be so harsh, but you need a wake up call to get your sh#t together and not look to take revenge on social media!

Perhaps there was a reason why they were behind? Perhaps there were agreements in place because we were trying to work with the tenant as we THOUGHT they were honest people. I don't need to explain any further than that. And your opinion of me is meaningless since I didn't ask for it.

And did I say I was going to take to SOCIAL MEDIA name call? I asked a SIMPLE QUESTION that apparently is above your pay grade.

IS THERE NO REGISTRY OR SYSTEM FOR ALERTING/TRACKING LANDLORDS TO DEADBEAT TENANTS?
