I assume that Oct. rent was paid, but not Nov. or Dec. At this point, do nothing towards sending any statement to the former Ts. Until you have a new signed lease, plus a deposit and first months rent from a new T, you do not have a new T as yet. Once you have that, you can send the old T a letter about their security deposit. State in the letter they moved out on xxx, they owe rent for Nov. and Dec. You re-rented the place as of xxx, their deposit went for Nov. rent, and they still owe you for Dec. rent (plus any damages they left you). Short and sweet. Send it certified mail to whatever addresses they left with you. If no new addresses left, send it to their last known ad. which is your rental property. Hopefully, they put in a forwarding ad. with the Post Office. Good luck in trying to find either of them, or ever getting any money out of them. Consider it a loss, a learning experience, and move on.

Actually, they did pay November and December too. I found an appropriate form to use to release them early from the lease after I posted my original message.
