I had a tenant (couple) who had a Bankrupcy due to medical bills. They both were employed with jobs. They stayed 5 years and faithfully paid on time. Left to move to a new job out of town. Personally in the situation OP states I would be more concerned if the person could afford the rent - if ex didn't pay the child support.
