Totally understand and I was suspicious as well. Tenant complaints at the complex' web site say that the new mgmt. co. cannot be reached by phone. As I said, I went over there. There is a "Now Leasing" banner with a phone # that has gone to voice mail every time I've called it and no return calls.
She showed me her lease, including the M2M provision as she didn't sign a new lease.
And my god, the place looks like a prison. 8' steel fencing all around, no parking except on the street, a sign says "leasing office" but you cannot get in the property and the guy I saw said "no one's there."
