You made me LOL thank you! That said, I do not use face book true fact. Also a tenant could google my house and know that I am totally legit.
Someone on this forum basically said that a landlord was not allowed to google a person before showing them the home and getting a signed application with permission to know who they really are.

Public data can be searched by anyone for any reason.

Before meeting anyone off the internet it seems a wise and prudent step to know who they say they are.

No. You will find web-sites that say that you cannot use the information to make credit and employment and tenant decisions because it does not come under the FCRA because the person can't dispute the information: https://www.ftc.gov/enforcement/rules/rulemaking-regulatory-reform-proceedings/fair-credit-reporting-act
