If one tenant obtain a restraining order against another, resulting in the other tenant having to vacate the premises, who would pay for his share of the rent ?

Very likely, the T that got the restraining order against the other one. That is, unless, the LL is willing to take just 3/4 of the rent, until he/she could find a replacement for the one that left.

They are all responsible for rent. No rent, post pay or quit. Still no rent, file for eviction. All based on state landlord tenant law of course.
