Very important to make sure your tenants have renters insurance like in your LPA lease if you use it just in case they need to stay elsewhere.
I always require proof of renters insurance before I give keys to new tenants.
Check your lease.
Yes, you will need to have your insurance company get involved to deal with the damage to your property. Call your agent.
