california rent increase notice by John on August 20, 2018 @13:28

Hi, embarrassed to ask but we served rent increases above ten percent and only gave 30 days notice. We thought since we were not under rent control that only 30 days was needed. Everyone paid the increase after the 30 days. How can we remedy this because we need to give some people 60 day notices.

thanks for your help

If it would me I would give them the 60-day notice, but charge them the original rate for 1 of those 2 months. Just put the discounting in writing.
