Is it possible for you to go over to your rental early in a morning, before the T goes to work, and listen to the car warming up, to see how loud it is ? If you cannot, is there some other person you trust, that can do it? You need to hear what your complaining tenant is hearing. Then talk to both Ts about the problem. It's possible the car may need a new muffler, of which you could contact that tenant, and offer to give him $100 towards him putting on a new muffler. Or offer the $100 towards a tune-up if its not the muffler. I realize you don't HAVE to do any of this, but if you don't try SOMETHING, the problems are just going to escalate. (I guess you could just tell your T to wear earplugs) Remember, in another 2 months, there will be no need to warm up the car early.
