How long do we have to store tenants property.

It all depends on which state you are in. Each state has their own rules, which vary from 24 hours, to 6 months. And some do not have any rules/laws governing storage times. You did not say which state you are in. Look up your state's LL/T laws, and your eviction laws, to see what they say. Hopefully, you took pics of everything that was left, right exactly where they left it, before your touched any of it. First, determine what is garbage, and toss all of that. What's left, store for 30 days----AFTER you have notified the former tenant about getting his stuff out (a letter sent by both regular and certified mail to his new address. If this was a house or large apartment they lived in, and left you a lot of damage/cleanup, move all the T's remaining possessions to just 1 room, and then work on the rest of the place to get it ready for new Ts. If it takes you 30 days to fixup/cleanup the rest of the place, you have just stored the Ts stuff for 30 days, at no cost to you. If the T has not come to pick up their stuff at the end of the 30 days, haul it to the dump, and then get that 1 room ready to rent.
