Thieving Lease Breakers - Landlord Forum thread 359796

Thieving Lease Breakers by Craig on October 10, 2019 @18:37

Hi -- The T renting my mobile home vacated without notice. They owed 5 weeks rent, but I have their 1-month deposit, so not too bad on the immediate debt.

However, the home is rented furnished, and they took about $1000 worth of my furniture, a 3-month old lawn mower, and a few other items.

Naturally, they left a huge mess inside and out, and it looks like one of them put a fist through a closet door.

Is it worth my time and effort to report the stolen items? I think the chances of recovering the stolen items in usable condition are very slim.

Also, where can I report the broken lease, so that other landlords can know?

Thanks!

Only YOU can decide if it's worth YOUR time and effort to pursue them.

On this website you can 1. file a negative credit report, 2. file a bad tenant report. Just call the police and file a theft report.
