Reporting Positive Rent Pymnt History by Karen on February 12, 2020 @12:21

I was told awhile ago that if you pay your rent on time it can have a positive effect on your credit. How do I go about reporting that history? I work for a landlord company but I also rent so I'm asking from both sides. I noticed that Experian has a program that you can use but your tenants have to pay their rent through Experian and changing all of our tenants' accounts would be a nightmare.

You have to understand that reporting such a monthly payment, such as rents, at any time when someone is pulling your credit, they will see a recurring payment and it will count against you as a liability in regards to your monthly income vs. expenses.
