Applying Tenant has Tourettes - Landlord Forum thread 360298

Applying Tenant has Tourettes by Karen on February 24, 2020 @10:32

Applying Tenant openly hold me that she has Tourettes Syndrome. This condition means that she yells loudly on a regular basis and it could be obscenities. I know that I cannot discriminate against her because of this medical issue but I don't want the offices below her apartment to be unhappy and move out. Most likely I am going to approve her to move in but I wish there was an agreement that we could make stating that if the office complains then we would have to let her go. Once again I know that this is very touchy because it is a medical issue. Any advice?

Read up on right to quiet enjoyment. If your tenant unreasonably bothers neighbors then she is violating that. Quite enjoyment should be in your lease.

I would also talk to the people downstairs and let them know the situation.
