How did he pay you-----check, cash, money order, direct deposit? You do not have to accept the payment. If it's a check or M.O., write VOID on it several times, and send it back to him. If he gave you cash, write a check or M.O. to him, and send that back to him. IF he did direct deposit, send him a check or M. O. back. Write a note saying you do NOT accept his payment. Do this ASAP, so as not to have any problems with the Sheriff.
