No need for you to call the cops, or call or text or email your tenants. Simply post a 24 hour notice on her door that you will be entering her apartment to see if she has moved out. The notice should say : Dear tenant (her name) : Recent information has come to my attention that you may have moved out (vacated) your apartment at (address) in the past few days. This is my minimum 24 hour notice to you, that I will be entering your apartment on (date and time) to confirm that information. (then sign your name)
Make 2 copies of your letter, and post 1 on her door. Then take a pic of it on the door. Go over the next day, and take a witness and a camera with you. If she comes to the door, ask to go in. if she refuses, leave----she is still there.
If no answer, use your key to go in. Go thru the place, to determine if she has moved. Look for the amount of food in the referige and cupboards. Check closets for clothes, and toiletries in the bathroom. See what furniture is still there or is missing. You and your witness will have to make a determination as to if you think she has left,or is still living there. Take pics BEFORE you move anything of hers.
If you determine she is gone, CHANGE THE LOCKS ! You now have possession back. Then do whatever you need to do to get it ready to re-rent again.
