Congratulations on buying your first home! Send your 60 day notice to where ever you pay your rent at. However, if you are sending your rent to a bank from your phone, you won't be able to do that. So re-read your lease again, and find a address or a phone # to call, and find out where to send your notice to. Once you have a physical address, send 2 letters-----1 regular mail, and 1 certified mail, to that address. Include the exact date you will be out. You can also text and email your notice to that entity, but your official notice needs to be sent thru the mail.

A few days before that move out date, if you find you won't be out by that date, you have 2 choices--------negotiate with the landlord to stay longer for a certain price, or actually move out by that date, by putting your possessions in storage for awhile, and then staying with a friend or relative, or stay at a motel until you can move into your new home. Yes, this means you may have to move everything twice, but that happens sometimes, so be prepared for it.

Thank you for the useful advice. I mail rent to a PO Box and that is the only address on the lease where it states to mail the rent.

However their main office when I googled shows a different address.

I was thinking to send certified letter to the main office and a second letter via regular mail to the PO Box.

I am concerned that the house will not be ready by the end of the time and lease states $250 extra if month to month. Nothing about if just staying two extra weeks will incur extra charges.

I will need time to move and come back and deep clean the apartment so I can leave it in good condition for the next tenant.
